Our health center is a multi-specialty facility that offers a wide variety of health care services. We have professionals from various areas of health care that work together to get YOU unparalleled results! Services include:
Spinal Decompression Therapy
We have successful helped hundreds of patients relieve their pain with our spinal decompression rehabilitation program. A big benefit to spinal decompression is it does more than treat the symptom; it also heals your problem. This is a much better approach than just getting temporary relief by taking medications or getting injections. It's also safer than having surgery. If you have been diagnosed with any of the conditions
listed above and are suffering with pain that just won't
seem to go away, spinal decompression may be for you.
Give us a call and we'll be able to determine of your
condition qualifies for our spinal decompression
rehabilitation program. MULTI-DISCIPLINARY MEDICAL OPTIONS Starting with a comprehensive evaluation by Dr. McCain which may include x-rays and/or functional testing a plan of care is created specifically for each patient’s particular injury or condition. Often followed by a medical evaluation by Dr. Janowski with rehabilitation recommendations or diagnostic testing, he may even offer other medical options and pain relief treatments. Continual assessment and re-evaluation is used to monitor progress and determine the necessity for further care or referral to another professional. The clinic is concerned with the entire physical condition of the patient. If needed, the patient may be referred for surgical consultation. It is estimated that only 8-10% of the patients seen in the clinic may be candidates or actually need surgery. WHY SPINAL DECOMPRESSION WORKS Decompression of the cervical and lumbar discs relieves pressure on the spinal nerves often caused by herniated, bulging, and degenerative discs or posterior facet syndrome. The DRX9000 is cleared by the FDA as the only device of its kind to provide true spinal decompression. The process using this technology has been proven to relieve pain by enlarging the disc space, reducing herniations, strengthening the outer ligaments and reversing the high intra-discal pressures through the application of a negative pressure. The technology can automatically adjust to the proper angle of distraction and in combination with an air bladder system which acts as a fulcrum the specific discs can be targeted during treatment. There are many types of equipment on the market that make similar claims to the DRX9000. These companies often site the research provided from the DRX technology and have no research on their own equipment. Providers who use this lesser expensive type of equipment often claim that their treatment is cheaper or always covered by insurance which usually is not substantiated. Incorporated into the design of the DRX9000 are more than thirty (30) critical components that are protected by existing patents or patent applications held by the suppliers. Fifteen (15) of these critical components are unique and specialized to the DRX9000 and are integral in achieving True Non-surgical Spinal Decompression. Quality technology and experience with these conditions so that patients can get the optimal results is the most important concern at Dr. McCain’s clinic. “We do not cut corners here. I believe that patients deserve the highest standards in healthcare. We will never turn away an individual that wants to get better and of course that we can help," exclaimed Dr. McCain. There are no guarantees in healthcare but by offering the highest quality treatments we can assure the best chance at getting results for these serious conditions and be pain free. In a resent landmark study by Dr. John Leslie of Mayo Clinic, he reported information compiled from Duke, Stanford, and Johns Hopkins University. After two weeks there was a 50% reduction in pain scores and after a six week protocol an 88.9% success rate was reported with debilitating back pain conditions. UNIQUE TREATMENT COMBINATION FOR CHRONIC PAIN CONDITIONS One of the newer options for disc related pain is a combination treatment using the non-surgical spinal decompression followed by core muscle stabilization and strengthening. Dr. McCain has designed protocols in his office that have offered an estimated 90% results or better. The core strengthening and stabilization component of the therapy program is a key to the long-term success and management, according to Dr. McCain. Patients with injuries need this additional bridge of support as they recover and learn to maintain their health on their own. The clinic provides technology that is specifically designed to strengthen the interior spinal musculature to improve posture, strength of the spinal column, and stability. LPG One, a medical equipment company, manufactures such equipment in its computerized Spine-Force neuromuscular training technology. This system allows patient’s to target the core muscles and also strengthen the trunk, shoulders, legs, hips, ankles, and knees, which also can be affected in long-term chronic problems related to the spine and posture. The doctors and therapists in the clinic also know that it is equally important to prepare and coach patients on self care and home exercise. This way the patients can take an active part in their health, learn to better take care of themselves on their own so that they don’t become dependent on their doctors. Home support may include hot and cold packs, back braces, Swiss balls for stretching and exercises, and hand weights or other equipment for home use. Many patients will receive instruction on diet, weight loss, food planning, and lifestyle changes. WHAT ABOUT QUALIFYING FOR TREATMENTS? A provider that is treating a person for a medical condition should know exactly what is going on with that person. At Impact Health and Spine Center there is nothing left to guess or chance regarding a patient’s health. It is up to the doctors to confirm the patient’s diagnosis and if the clinic can provide safe and effective treatments for the particular condition. A thorough examination and review of the patient’s health history is important. For most neck and back injuries x-rays and/or MRI is an appropriate and necessary diagnostic test. These tests can detect bone spurs, disc bulging, pinched nerves, abnormal curving like scoliosis, and even ligament injuries from whiplash. “We must see the condition that we are treating, says Dr. McCain. It is necessary to see the structure that is affected such as the spine so that we can determine the severity and the appropriate treatments to get the patient optimal results.” That is why the clinic provides state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment such as digital x-ray and computerized functional assessments for range of motion and muscle strength. In some severe cases it is necessary to see the affect that an injury has on the nerves going down the arms and legs. This is where the specialty of Dr. Pratt comes in. He can determine when a particular nerve or muscle is damaged and also determine if treatments are helping the problem get better. This type of test is especially important with carpal tunnel, injuries involving trauma, and even leg pain or numbness. By providing diagnostic testing in the office this can minimize the burden for a patient to have to go to other facilities thus making the entire care convenient and enjoyable.
